Our Story

Talofa lava I’m Virginia Dempsey, a proud Samoan woman based in Auckland, New Zealand. It has long been my dream to launch "Lalelei," a clothing line inspired by a shared passion with my sister. Raised with the rich culture and values of my people, I've navigated the challenges of embracing my identity in a rapidly changing world. Through Lalelei, I aim to celebrate my heritage with couture attire that beautifully blends traditional designs, reflecting my journey and pride in who I am today.

 

Here at Lalelei, we are passionate about creating polynesian inspired clothing with a modern twist that stays up to date with its current fashion trends. Each of our clothing pieces are hand printed and sewn from our home based studio, ensuring attention to detail and a personal touch in every garment.
